This page explains problems that may occur when reading meters.
◆ List
Major items
- The setting screen does not appear when I press "Check item setting"
- When registering, the message "Marker not found" appears.
- Reading service cannot be selected in "Check Items" settings
- I can't set up system integration with "hakaru.ai" or "LiLz"

Subitems
◆ The setting screen does not appear even if you press "Check item setting"
If the setting screen does not appear when you click Action Menu > Check Item Settings,
please check whether map data is registered for the floor you are using.
If a map has been created for the floor, the map will be displayed in the upper left corner of the operation screen.
If the map data for the floor you want to use is empty, the check item settings will not start.
Please refer to [Map Data Creation/Floor Linkage] to create a map in advance.

|
If the map has already been created |
◆ When registering, the message "Marker not found" appears.
If the message "Marker not found" is displayed when registering a meter,
the marker may not be visible within the field of view, or may be too far away to be recognized.
Please refer to the following items to make adjustments:
[Marker not attached correctly]
[Marker not within the field of view of the camera]
[Marker is blown out]
[Area surrounding the marker is dark and cannot be recognized]
[Distance from marker is too far]

Display when no marker is found |
◆ Reading service cannot be selected in "Check Items" settings
If reading services such as "hakaru.ai" and "Lilz" are displayed as "Not Contracted" when registering check items,
the contract procedure may not have been completed correctly.
For details, please refer to the following page.
[I can't select the reading service in the "Check Item" settings]
◆ I can't set up system integration with "hakaru.ai" or "LiLz"
If you are unable to enter your account information on "hakaru.ai" or "Lilz" and the fields to enter your information are not displayed,
it may be that the contract procedure was not completed correctly.
For details, please refer to the following page.
[I can't set up system integration with "hakaru.ai" or "LiLz"]
◆ After reading the meter, "Analysis failed" is displayed
If analysis fails on hakaru.ai or if uploading to LiLz Gauge fails, ugoPortal will display "Analysis Failed".
There are multiple factors that can cause analysis failure, such as communication and shooting environment, and there is no effective countermeasure for all factors.
Here we will explain how to identify the cause.
Pattern 1: The image was successfully cropped.
Check the uploaded image. If it has been cropped based on the marker from the captured image (part of the marker is visible in the four corners of the image),
please refer to [If the image has been cropped but has failed] .
|
Markers are projected and cut out at the four corners of the image |
Pattern 2: Image cropping has failed.
Check the uploaded image.
If the image has not been cropped based on the marker from the captured image,
please refer to [If the image has not been cropped and has failed].
|
The image is captured, but the marker is not recognized and the image is not cropped. |
- If the image has been cropped but failed
LiLz Gauge
→ [LiLz connection information has not been entered correctly] Global Menu > Data Management > Buildings > Building List > Building > The [Container Name] and [Connection String]
entered in the system connection may not have been entered correctly, or the [Device ID] may not have been entered correctly when registering the check item.
Please review the settings again by referring to the page below. [LiLz Gauge Meter Reading Setting Method]
hakaru.ai
→ [The meter type is not selected correctly]
If the meter is not set correctly, the values will not be analyzed correctly even if you get through.
Please try the following items.
[The meter type is not selected correctly]
→ [The value to be read is not displayed]
If the value to be read is not displayed due to whiteout or obstacles, analysis will fail.
Please try the following.
[The image is overexposed]
If the image quality is set to low, the values may not be analyzed correctly and the analysis may fail.
Please try the following:
[Image quality is set to low]
- If the image has not been cropped and has failed
→ [Marker not detected]
If cropping is not successful, the marker itself may not be recognized.
Please try the following items.
[The marker is not attached correctly]
[The marker is not within the camera's field of view ]
[The marker is blown out]
[The area around the marker is dark and cannot be recognized]
[The distance to the marker is too far]
→ [The settings for the marker you are using are not set correctly]
If the settings for the marker you are using are different from the type of marker you are actually using,
the marker will not be recognized and the image will not be cropped.
Please try the following items.
[The "Area detection settings" are not set correctly]
If the marker is not attached correctly
If the marker is not attached so that it can be recognized correctly, reading will not be performed correctly.
Be sure to attach the marker so that the marker ID (number) is at the bottom left. Please refer to the [How to attach the marker] item in
[Notes on meter reading settings] to adjust the way you attach the marker.

Good example |
|
Bad example 1 |
|
Bad Example 2 |
- The marker is not within the camera's field of view.
If one of the markers is outside the field of view (all four markers are not within the field of view), the reading will not be performed correctly.
Please refer to the [Robot Adjustment] section of [Notes on Meter Reading Settings] and reacquire the partial map used for position adjustment or adjust the angle of the gimbal camera.
|
Extreme example (image) |
- The image is overexposed
If the meter is overexposed due to the ring light or surrounding lighting, or
if the meter cannot be seen due to light reflections, readings will not be performed correctly. Please refer to the [ Aircraft Adjustment] section of
[Notes on Meter Reading Settings] and try turning the ring light on and off, changing the height of the telescopic pole, etc.
|
The marker is blown out (image) |
- "Area detection settings" is not set correctly
If you are using markers to crop, please make sure that "Crop area using 4 markers" is selected when registering the meter. If you are using a 2D barcode to crop, please make sure that "Crop area using 1 QR code" is selected when registering the meter.
Please check the settings by referring to [How to set the meter reading range using a QR code] .
|
Check item setting screen (when using 2D barcode) |
- The meter type is not selected correctly.
If the meter type is not selected correctly when registering, the correct values may not be read during analysis.
Please review the settings by referring to the "Check item settings (meter registration, etc.)" item in "Notes on meter reading settings ."

List of meter types |
The image quality is set to low.
Check item: The image quality setting at the time of shooting may not be read as a correct value during analysis. If
the quality setting is low, block noise in the image increases, and numbers, meter needles, commas, and other notations
may not be recognized, making it impossible to measure correct values. Please review the settings by referring to the [Image quality settings] item in
[Notes on meter reading settings].
- The area around the marker is dark and difficult to see
If the marker itself or the surroundings are too dark, the marker will not be recognized properly.
If there is light reflection or shadow, the marker will not be recognized.
If there is too much black in the background, it may not be recognized properly
. If the marker is whitish directly under a light source or in a place where light from a light source hits it, it will not be recognized. Please refer to the [Aircraft Adjustment] item in
[Notes on Meter Reading Settings] to adjust the ring light and room brightness.
|
Bad example 1 (It will not be recognized if the contrast is not clear, such as if the subject is too dark or the background is too black) |
|
Bad example 2 (not only the whole object, but also only a part of it is not recognized) |
- The distance to the marker is far
If the marker is too far away from the camera, it will be too small in the captured image and will not be recognized.
The recommended distance from the marker is about 60cm to 70cm . Please adjust your standing position and shooting position by referring to the item "How to attach the marker" in
"Notes on Meter Reading Settings".
|
The marker is too far away to be recognized |
|
Approximately 60-70cm is recommended (depending on the environment) |
