◆ Meter types
・hakaru.ai supports the following meters:
| Analog/Round | Analog/square type (voltage/current) |
| Digital/7-segment | Digital/Other |
| Rotating/Counter (Electricity/Gas/Water) | Multimeter |
・LiLz supports the following meters:
| Circular (clockwise/counterclockwise) | Rectangular (clockwise/counterclockwise) |
| 7-seg type | Counter Type |
| Level Type | Float Type |
| Lamp type |
Meters that are not supported by each meter reading solution will not be supported.
(For example, meters that change the content displayed depending on the time in one display column, or meters that display randomly, etc.)
◆ Preparing the markers
You will need to print the AR marker in advance.
Print it on A4 paper without changing the size.
If the printed marker is rough (the marker is printed blurry or has noise),
it is highly likely that it will not be recognized correctly, so please pay attention to the settings when printing.
We recommend avoiding glossy paper and using matte paper.

◆ How to apply the marker
If you use tape or clips to attach the markers, do not attach the tape to the white areas around the markers.
The markers may not be recognized correctly. When attaching the markers, please use sheet magnets or double-sided tape.
|
Bad example (white area is hidden) |
Place markers at the four corners of the area you want to read the meter.

Bad example (flipped or wrong orientation) |
Please paste them so that they form a square or rectangle.
Trapezoids and diamonds may not be analyzed correctly.

Be sure to use markers with four different IDs (numbers) for one meter. Duplicate use is not allowed.
If multiple markers with the same ID are used for one meter, the IDs will overlap when registering and
recognizing the markers to read the meter, and the meter will not be able to be used correctly.
|
Good example (There are four IDs, so the four corners can be correctly specified.) |
|
Bad example (There are two of the same IDs, so the four corners cannot be specified correctly. It is impossible to determine which 9 is the top right and which is the bottom right.) |
Additionally, if there are markers with the same ID within the same field of view, the marker IDs will overlap and they will not be recognized correctly.
|
Good example (all 6 markers have unique IDs) |
|
Bad example (Even if you can register it, if the same ID is in the field of view when ugo recognizes it, it will be misrecognized.) |
The positions of the camera, meter, and marker are important. The recommended distance between the camera and the meter or marker is 60 to 70 cm.
If the marker is too far away from the meter, it will not be recognized correctly.

◆ Robot Adjustments
It will be easier to align the controls by using Action Menu > Teleop Guide to enable a guide on the screen.
|
Action Menu > Teleop Guide |
|
Display on the operation screen |
Adjust the height so that the meter and marker you want to read are reflected near the center of the camera.
The telescopic pole can be operated from the "↕" icon on the operation screen. You can also check the height.
If you note the height in advance when incorporating it into Flow, it will be easier to create the Flow.
|
Telescopic pole operation |
Please note that if you turn on the ring light to read, the subject will be overexposed due to the light, which will result in marker recognition failing.
|
The marker is blown out (image) |
Please stand facing the meter as directly as possible.
The recommended distance between the meter/marker and the camera is 60-70cm.
If there are few features and it is difficult to position yourself directly in front of the meter, you can first adjust your position in a different direction, then turn around to face the meter.

Turn around and face |
Don't forget to change the range of the collision prevention function to suit your environment.
◆ Check item settings (meter registration, etc.)
When registering a new meter, select "New Check item".
When rewriting the settings of an existing meter (e.g. when changing the marker to be used), select the registered item.

|
For existing meters |
When using four AR markers for cropping, please pay attention to the settings as the crop will not be oriented correctly unless the four corners are set correctly.
|
The corner settings are incorrect (the value is 92.3) |
|
The orientation after cutting is incorrect (the correct value is 92.3, but it is detected as 353) |
If you are cutting out a QR code, please enclose the area including the QR code.
|
Enclose each QR code |
Please select the correct type of check target and meter type.
If you are unsure of the type of check target, select "Other: Meter".
If the meter type is not set correctly, some solutions may not be able to analyze the data and may not return the correct value.

◆ Picture quality settings
In the case of the mini, the "front camera" is HD quality (1280x720) and the " mini-4k camera " is 4k quality (3840x2160).
Both are the image quality of the original image when cropping , not the image quality after cropping.
The image quality after cropping depends on the settings of "original image quality", "cropping range", "shooting checked items", and "image quality".
|
"Photo check item" command |
There are three image quality settings : "High", "Medium" and "Low".
When shooting in 4k with the mini and setting the image quality to "High" , the amount of image data increases, so uploading data and cropping with markers takes time, and
Flow may stop due to a timeout depending on the communication situation. If the stop occurs frequently, lowering the image quality will stabilize it.
(Example: Try changing from 4k to HD. Example: Try changing the image quality from "High" to "Low".)
|
From top to bottom, 4k quality cutouts for "high", "medium", and "low" |
|
From top to bottom: HD quality "high", "medium", and "low" cutouts |
*The ugo Pro, ugo mini, and ugoEx cameras have fixed focus lenses, so the focus cannot be adjusted.
◆ Communication
When the "Photo check item" command is executed in Flow, it communicates with
ugo Portal to check whether the recognized marker ID matches the marker ID associated with the meter registered in ugo Portal.
If the communication quality is poor at this time, the communication will fail and the Flow will stop due to a timeout.
