The volume settings for ugo are controlled by a two-stage system: "body volume" and "volume per command."
This manual explains how to configure ugo's sound output (speaker output) and sound pickup (microphone input gain).
◆ Table of Contents
◆ Speaker output volume mechanism
The volume of speech and background music output from ugo's speaker is determined by the product of the "device volume" and the "parameter volume within the command."
It's easier to understand if you think of it in terms of PC volume.
| Setting items | An example using a PC | role |
| Robot noise | PC volume control (master volume) | The maximum volume that serves as the basis for pronunciation (set in 11 levels from 0 to 100). |
| Parameter: Volume | Music player volume (relative volume) | This setting determines the percentage of the robot's sound volume at which the sound is emitted (0% to 900%). There are also commands that allow for individual settings. |
■ Formula for calculating speaker output volume
Robot volume × Parameter volume (%) = Actual volume
Example 1: When the robot volume is set to 100 (maximum)
Parameter volume 900% → 100 × 900% = 900 Parameter volume 50% → 100 × 50% = 50
Example 2: When the robot volume is set to 50 (medium)
Parameter volume 200% → 50 × 200% = 100 Parameter volume 50% → 50 × 50% = 25
◆ How to set speaker output
1. Setting the robot volume (master volume)
The robot volume can be adjusted in 11 steps, including mute, via the operation screen's Action Menu > Settings > ugo Sound > ugo Speaker Output Volume.
You can also change the speaker volume using the following commands (master volume setting commands).
These commands can be incorporated into command lists, Flows, and WorkPlans.
| Command name | role |
|
Speaker volume (high) |
The robot volume (master volume) parameter will be set to 150. However, since the robot volume (master volume) cannot be set above 100, it will actually be set to 100. |
|
Speaker volume (medium) |
Set the robot volume (master volume) parameter to 100. |
|
Speaker volume (low) |
Set the robot volume (master volume) parameter to 50. |
|
Speaker volume (zero) |
Set the robot volume (master volume) parameter to 0. |
2. Setting the volume for each command (parameter volume)
When executing Flow commands related to speech or voice, such as the "Text to Speech" command or BGM playback, you can adjust the relative volume using parameter settings.
Depending on the command, volume can be set numerically, set in four levels (high, medium, low, mute), or set to a parameter volume equivalent to 100.
■ Set parameter volume numerically (0% to 900%)
By default, it is set to 100%.
| Text-to-speech synthesis | Random speech utterances | Voice speech by time of day |
| Voice: A robot will board the vehicle. (Repeats 10 seconds) | Audio: On patrol (repeats in 10 seconds) | Automatic charging starts (volume control/brake) |
■ Set the parameter volume in four stages: large, medium, small, and mute.
| Map patrol starts | Route-based movement | Move to specified destination |
| Parameter settings | Meaning proportion |
| High | 100% |
| Medium | 60% |
| Low | 20% |
| mute | 0% |
■Parameters Equivalent to a command with volume at 100%
Commands that involve the following utterances or BGM playback, for which no volume parameter exists, are treated as if the parameter volume were set to 100%.
