Execution from the command list
① Execute the [Automatic Conversation OFF] command from the command list.
② The [Automatic Conversation Icon] will be turned OFF.
Execution via Flow (integration with scheduling function)
- You can disable automatic conversation by incorporating the "Automatic Conversation OFF" command into Flow.
Integration with the scheduling function is recommended.
Please refer to the scheduling function for details.
• Scheduling function: Let's get started with ugo's "automated operation"
◆ Behavior when switching to automatic conversation ON
|
No human detected (waiting for automated conversation) |
Start conversation | After the conversation ended | |
| Flow not executed | It will enter an automated conversation standby state. When a person stands in front of ugo, it will switch to an AI-powered conversation state. |
To start the conversation by greeting. |
The system will return to the standby state for automated conversation after greeting at the end of the conversation . |
| Flow is running. | Flow will continue to run. When a person stands in front of ugo, it will switch to an AI-driven conversation state. |
Flow interruption: Greeting at the start of the conversation. |
The system will speak a greeting to mark the end of the conversation. The Flow that was running before the conversation will automatically resume. The system will return to the automated conversation standby state. |
◆ Flow's behavior when automated conversation is ON
When the automated conversation function is turned ON, the execution of Flow and conversations with humans are synchronized.
① Click the [Automatic Conversation Icon] at the top of the operation screen.
② Turn ON the toggle button in the [Automatic Conversation Settings] dialog box.

⑤ If a person is standing within the detection range set in [Automatic Conversation Settings] while Flow is running, the running Flow will be interrupted. The system will start with an opening greeting and then transit to automated conversation.
⑥ When the conversation ends and the person leaves in front of ugo, the Flow that will automatically resume.
◆ Recommended Usage Examples
This system combines stationary customer attraction and standing guard duties with AI-powered guidance and conversation services.
Usage Example 1: Person detection greeting
Normally, ugo will greet people who passing by and engage in a conversation with those who stop in front of it.
How to structure a flow:
Use the "Object Detection" command.
Please refer to the instructions for creating a Flow that says "greet people" using ugo Pro .
In this integration with the AI automated conversation function, we've added the "Automatic Conversation ON" command at the beginning of the Flow to prevent users from forgetting to switch to "Automatic Conversation ON".
When the conversation ends, the image displayed on the signage switched back to the default image since we've incorporated a "Show Signage Image" command to display content on the signage.
Usage Example 2: Standard Phrases
The system works by uttering pre-set phrases at regular intervals and engaging in conversations with people who approach with interest.
How to structure a flow:
Use "Text to Voice" commands to make the ugo speak its lines.
If you want to automatically repeat the Flow, please include the "Repeat Flow" command at the end.
*Unlike the previous "Automatic Guidance Function" call mode, there is no function to automatically repeat the Flow.
In this example, to prevent forgetting to switch ON the "Automatic Conversation," we use the "Automatic Conversation ON" command at the beginning of the Flow.
When the conversation ends, the image displayed on the signage switched back to the default image since we've incorporated the "Show Signage Image" command to display content on the signage.
◆ Notes on operation
🚫 Use while map patrolling and moving:
- Never use the automatic conversation function in combination with Flows that involve movement.
Never patrol or move around the map with automatic conversation ON. Flows executed with automatic conversation ON should only be those that in a fixed location and do not involve movement of ugo (greetings, speech).
If patrolling is performed with the same unit, be sure the "Automatic Conversation OFF" command is executed at the beginning of the patrol Flow.
🚫 Height retention of the lifter unit:
- When a person stands in front of the ugo, the AI detects the person and initiates a conversation with its arm automatically switch to standby position.
When the lifter unit height is lowered than the default 650mm while the automated conversation is in operation, the arm will hit the cart unit which may cause damage by collision.
When using the AI automatic conversation function, never lower the height of the lifter unit than the default setting of 650mm when starts.
Power OFF/Reboot:
- The automatic conversation ON/OFF state will be retained even after ugo is powered off or restarted.
If you turn ugo off/on while automatic conversation is enabled, conversation will start immediately when a person stands within the detection range after ugo restarts.
After restarting, please make sure not run the map patrol flow while automatic conversation is enabled.
When using the same ugo to patrol (move) the map after turning off automatic conversation:
- When using the same ugo for map patrols or other movements, please include the "Automatic Conversation OFF" command at the beginning of the flow.
This will prevent you from forgetting to switch off automatic conversation and ensure a safe operation.
[Pause] button:
- Pressing the [Pause] button on the operation screen will not turn off the automatic conversation.
What happens when you schedule a Flow to run during a conversation:
- If ugo uses the scheduling feature to run Flow during a conversation, the conversation will end immediately and Flow will start.
Actions when an operator executes a Flow during a conversation:
- If an operator executes a Flow from the control screen while ugo is in a conversation, the conversation will end immediately and the Flow will start. Please refrain from having the operator execute Flow during a conversation, as this will end the conversation abruptly.
Actions taken when the emergency stop switch is pressed:
- The following actions will occur if you press the emergency stop switch while using the automated conversation function. The behavior when the emergency button is pressed differs in the following three patterns.
| Situation | Behavior |
| Flow is running | Automated conversations will also be turned off, and Flow will stop. |
| Flow not executed | Automatic conversation will be turned off. |
| During the conversation | The conversation will stop immediately, and automated conversations will also be turned off. If Flow was running before the conversation started, Flow will also stop. |
Once you've started using AI automated conversations, the next step is
STEP 8: Improve the Q&A and additional instructions using the conversation history .
